I had a new BT Home hub 5 (type b) to replace my Hub 5 (type a) that packed in.
I'm trying to set up the Vonets VAP11G WiFi Bridge on the new hub but it doesn't find my network, it finds others on the street that are close. It worked fine with the old hub.
Can anyone help.

The hub is set to b/g/n .Is your Hub using an 'n' wireless network that your bridge can't detect? - #4BT homehub 5 has this feature call smart setup. It is not needed and is pretty dumb actually, and is well known to interfere with setting up wifi bridges etc.
Try turning off smart setup, and see if things work then. - #5
Smart set is off, I turned it off when I set the hub up.BT homehub 5 has this feature call smart setup. It is not needed and is pretty dumb actually, and is well known to interfere with setting up wifi bridges etc.

Another thought. Could the SSID be turned off? That would prevent you seeing the hub in the list of available connections but if you know the SSID you could try entering it manually.
This is for Windows 8 but I think 7 is similar as is 10

USB port? Do you mean Ethernet? - #9USB port? Do you mean Ethernet?
Only got one ethernet port, but I swapped usb ports but thinking about it the usb only powers the Vonets.. So I'm puzzled now... - #10Only got one ethernet port, but I swapped usb ports but thinking about it the usb only powers the Vonets.. So I'm puzzled now...
By removing power and repowering, you must have forced the device to rescan or something.
Incidentally, using a pc's usb socket to provide power continuously is not the greatest idea - increases the risk of port failure. You might like to consider using an external power plug with a usb socket. - #11By removing power and repowering, you must have forced the device to rescan or something.

I was only using the pc's usb to set up the vonets, it's going to be used on my blue ray player.. - #12I was only using the pc's usb to set up the vonets, it's going to be used on my blue ray player..
Same still applies though - also tvs/dvd players etc do not always regulate voltage as well as PCs. The usb drive is probably intended to read flash drives, not provide continuous power.
Lots of people have had problems with chromecasts not functioning properly on tvs and found a clean external power source solved issues.
